Bhagwan Devnarayan
The Gurjar community worships Devnarayan ji as an avatar of Vishnu. Tradition says he was born at Malaseri Dungri (Asind, Bhilwara) to Savai Bhoj and Sadu Mata. The “Bagaravat” epic tells of his 24 Bagaravat ancestors and his revenge for them.
Herding families see him as protector and healer. Bhopas sing his epic all night before a phad about 30 feet long. Devnarayan Jayanti is on Magh Shukla 7.
