Chatur Das Ji Maharaj Butati
Chatur Das Ji Maharaj Butati — history and significance
Butati Dham is in Butati village, Degana tehsil of Nagaur district, on the Nagaur–Ajmer road. It is the samadhi of the siddha saint Chaturdas ji Maharaj, born into a Charan family, who lived here some 500–600 years ago.
Local tradition dates the samadhi to about 1600 CE. The village name is traced to Bura Lal Sharma (Dayma); it was later called “Bhom Singh ki Butati” after Thakur Bhom Singh.
Significance and belief
Devotees believe that people with paralysis (lakwa) find relief by staying 7 days and doing the sapt parikrama — one round outside after the morning aarti and one inside after the evening aarti — and applying bhabhut (ash) from the havan kund. Thousands come from across India.
This is a matter of faith — please also follow a doctor’s advice and treatment for paralysis.
